What the case study recordings are

Every BatteryMBA cohort ends with participant case studies: a real commercial or technical problem from the participant's own organisation, scoped over the 12 weeks of the programme and presented live to faculty and peers. A subset of those sessions is published openly, with the presenter's consent, so people outside the cohort can see how battery decisions are actually argued - assumptions, numbers, trade-offs and the questions faculty push back with.

The library currently covers 11 open recordings drawn from 76 published case studies across grid-scale storage, EV programmes, cell manufacturing, recycling and raw materials. Each recording runs roughly 20–40 minutes: presentation first, then the Q&A, which is usually where the most useful detail comes out.

How a case study session is structured

    • Problem framing: the business or engineering question, why it matters now, and what decision hangs on it.
    • Method and data: the model, the cost or performance assumptions, and where the numbers came from.
    • Findings: what the analysis showed, including results that contradicted the starting hypothesis.
    • Recommendation: what the presenter would do, and the risks attached to doing it.
    • Faculty Q&A: where assumptions get stress-tested by people who have run these projects.

    Who finds them useful

Engineers moving from cell or pack work into system-level and commercial decisions; investors and analysts who need to sanity-check storage or EV business cases; and corporate teams evaluating whether a cohort-based programme fits their upskilling plans. If you are weighing up the programme itself, the recordings are the most honest preview of the standard of work expected.
